Elkington Silver Plated Wine Coolers (Pair) 1880

Item Details

Description

This is a pair of beautiful silver plate wine coolers made in England by Elkington & Co. of Birmingham. Vines, leaves, and grapes decorate these coolers; also, the front of each cooler carriers the crest of a bird, stars, and plums, as well as, the inscription “Qui Honeste Fortiter” near the bases. The original removable inserts remain with the coolers, one shows signs of regular wear and tear from use, while the other is in great condition. From the photos you can see how great of a condition the coolers themselves are, and just how exceptional of an item they really are. These stand approx. 11 ½” tall and approx. 10” wide. The bases are stamped with E & C, Elkington’s mark, as well as other identifiers.
