Description
This is a beautiful sterling sugar-shaker from the Georgian era, made in London in 1765. The removable top has been given alternating panel designs and dons a miniature finial. The front of the piece carries a heraldic crest embellished with birds amidst geometric shapes and a scrolled border. The age of the piece has resulted in a beautiful soft patina. The base has been stamped with hallmarks indicating its being made in London, and created by R. Peaston. It is approx. 7” tall (to tip of finial) and weighs approx. 6.4 troy ounces.
