English Hepplewhite Style Carved Mahogany Two Seat Hall Bench, c. 1900, two urn form finals flank a concave back, over two antique Indian style needlepoint upholstered rectangular cushions within curved arms, above a stepped skirt, on square tapered legs to spade feet, H.- 37 in., W.- 57 1/4 in., D.- 13 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. A separation of the wood is noted on the left side of the concave back. The left back finial is observed with residue – possible repair. Scattered spots of old worm damage are observed throughout, with a few centimeter sized losses resulting – two are noted on the edges of the circle in the center of the back panel. Feet and legs are observed with moderate nicks and scuffs. Upholstery is observed with a few areas of discoloration. A pleasing example.
