Description

Two French Art Deco Carved Walnut Westminster Chime Wall Clocks, c. 1930, one with incised carving around a pendulum door with a beveled glass window, H.- 28 in., W.- 14 1/4 in., D.- 7 in., the second by Girod, the geometric case with applied floral and berry carving, H.- 22 7/8 in., W.- 19 3/8 in., D.- 7 3/8 in.

Condition

Conditions consistent with age and use. Girod – Flea-sized brown spots of residue observed throughout. A ¼ chip is noted to the applied carving at the right. The mirrored edges of the lower window are observed with age spotting. Carved- Finish is slightly inconsistent throughout. A ¼ chip to veneer is noted below the beveled glass window. Moderate scuffs and scratches observed throughout. Flea-sized spots of brown residue are seen on the right side and along the bottom of the front. Both clocks are observed with moderate scuffs and scratches along the bottom. Not tested for working order. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD “AS IS.” NO STATEMENT REGARDING CONDITION OF ANY ITEM, WHETHER IT IS MADE ORALLY AT THE AUCTION OR ANY OTHER TIME, OR IN WRITING IN THE CATALOGUE OR ELSEWHERE, SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE A WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION, OR ASSUMPTION OF LIABILITY.
