British, 1789-1836 STILL LIFE OF FLOWERS WITH A BIRD ON A BRANCH: TWO Each initialed JH on verso, one dated Dec: 15th, the second dated Nov. 25th and each inscribed Pattern on verso, one inscribed on the backing Hewlett/Bath/1818 Gouache and watercolors over pencil on board 12 x 16 1/4 inches (30.5 x 41.3 cm.) and 12 1/8 x 16 1/8 inches (30.7 x 41.0 cm.) Provenance: Collection of Lynn Phillips Manulis, Palm Beach, Florida Condition reportCondition: Tape residue along back edges. Uneven borders. Few scattered scuffs/minor surface scratches.
One has some light craquelure in the white pigments, resulting in a few tiny scattered paint flakes. The second work appears to have spots of inpainting along the top edge and upper left corner, as well as light craquelure in the red and white pigments.
