This Latin manuscript on paper is a comprehensive philosophical Aristoteles treatise on the peripatetic treatment of logic in the lectures of Johannes Kaipel, professor of philosophy at the Jesuit College in Wroclaw. The manuscript was written by the student of philosophy J. Karl Joseph Schoebel and is inscribed with the place 'Wratislavia'. This inscription can stand for both Wroclaw or Bratislava. The rear of the last leaf is inscribed with 71 names of mostly Silesian students at the Jesuit College, among them the author with the note 'Slavensis'. Schoebel may have been from Bratislava, however, it seems more likely that the mostly Silesian students would opt for the much more renowned college in Wroclaw and not for the one in Bratislava.

For professor Kaipel, there is no information about his life and work available, the KVK (Karlsruhe Virtual Catalog) mentions a 'Panegyrikus' to Emperor Leopold I, which was published in Regensburg in 1673. This praise of Emperor Leopold I as patron of the later Leopoldina, is additional support of the thesis that the inscription 'Wratislavia' refers to the college in Wroclaw. Insofar the manuscript is an important and rare document of the philosophic teaching activities at the Jesuit College in the fore run to the formation of the Wroclaw university. The list of names also offers interesting insight into the college's staff structure. Additionally, the manuscript is also a document of the students' joy in artistic creation. On the title the letters' inner fields are filled in red, most captions are colored. A full-page drawing shows an allegory of 'Virtus' and 'Labor', several hand-painted schematic drawings with watercolors visualize philosophical ideas. A town veduta in lower margin symbolically stands for God who offers shelter for the faithful, the second part is framed by a very imaginative portal architecture.
