This interesting contemporary document from a Vienna masonic lodge from the late 18th century was published exactly the same year that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his father were members of this lodge. Mozart joined the lodge 'Zur Wohltätigkeit' in December 1784 and regularly visited the second Vienna lodge 'Zur wahren Eintracht', where he was promoted Fellowcraft Mason in January 1785. He missed the initiation of his friend Joseph Haydn, because he gave the first of six subscription concerts at the 'Mehlgrube' and played the solo part of his piano concert in D minor K 466. At Mozart's instigation, his father Leopold Mozart also joined the lodge in April 1785.
