These are two copper engraving maps with old outline coloring. The first one is the map of a spacious area around Oppau-Troppau, Lower Silesia in the southern Giant Mountains (today Opawa in the rural community Lubawka in Poland). The travel map is decorated with a figural title cartridge in the lower left and a legend in the upper left. The second map is a beautiful map of the Opawa area in Silesia, the circles of Jägerndorf, Leobschütz and Olbersdorf with a large, attractive cartridge in the upper right corner. Both maps are prepared by Johann Wolfgang Wieland (?-1736) and Mattheus von Schubarth (1723-1758). They were published by the Homann Heirs in the ‘Atlas Silesiae’ in 1950 but the maps were already engraved in 1736. The land surveys were conducted by J.W. Wieland and corrected by M. v. Schubarth.
The maps are trimmed to the margins and show scattered minimally foxing. They are torn along the folding lines and have been laid down on cloth. The dimensions are 55.3 x 81.6 cm and 55.9 x 82.5 cm. (tm)
