Description
Middle Babylonian Period, 1600-1300 BC. A baked clay pillow-shaped tablet with thirty five lines of cuneiform text to the broad faces, upper and lower edges and the left edge; a letter relating to the behaviour of Kirsin-uh, from the context a governor or king. Accompanied by a typed scholarly note issued by W. G. Lambert, late Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham. 64 grams, 54mm (2 1/4"). Acquired on the London art market prior to 1980.
