A Chinese Zitan Throne Armchair. The wide rectangular seat is inset with a solid panel. The inset arms are of stepped form with foliate designs. The central panel of the three-sectioned scrolled back is carved with a bat suspending a chime with floral patterns, surrounding shou emblem, flanked with graduated-paneled arms on the solid seat, with an openwork scrolling carved apron, the shaped straight legs ending in foot feet back suspending across the chair form. The wood is of a rich, dark brown tone. Height 41.75" Length 29.25" Width 22.5"
