Second half 19th century, the galleried superstructure comprising a rectangular hinged cabinet door enclosing a bird's eye maple interior over a drawer, flanked by arrangements of four short drawers, over a serpentine writing surface inset with gilt-tooled brown leather, above a long drawer with divided interior, on cabriole legs with cameo-mounted knees and claw feet, lacking key, 54.5'' H x 41.5'' W x 24.5'' D, est: $3000/4000
Condition
Professionally restored. With oak and pine secondary wood. Shrinkage cracks to drawer bottoms; large crack to dust panel. Repair to right side apron and front right leg. Pinning to areas of brass boulle; scattered losses to inlay. Warping to writing surface. Drawer's interior compartment lacking key.
