A Victorian silver coffee pot,by Messrs Barnard, London 1860, of panelled baluster form, on four leaf capped scroll feet, engraved with trailing hops and with presentation inscription, 28cm high, with a salver en suite,of circular form with beaded border on three foliate pierced bracket feet, with inscription within engraved hop decoration,25.5cm diameter, 47oz in fitted casePresented to G P Bacon, Esq., by a Body of Hop Merchants and Farmers of the Borough of Southwark in Acknowledgement of his liberality and personal exertions in communicating to them the Earliest Information Relating to the Official Returns of the Hop Duty, March 1861.Bacon was from Lewes in Sussex. Here he ran his 'Steam Printing Offices', producing pamphlets and books.
