Description
painted steel and tin with 6 painted cast metal horses, gold decal further identifies maker as Goodwin's Official Race Game Co., a robust clock work mechanism within the painted steel table sets the tin race course into a back and forth motion imparting movement of the horse figures; such that the outcome of the race is random; the toy is offered with the original box (heavily taped) which indicates maker's address as 253 Broadway; it would seem safe to assume that the toy was produced by Frederick Goodwin who patented the walking doll used in toys made by Stevens & Brown in the 1870's
