This Barovier & Toso glass vase features lavender and amethyst controlled lattice pattern and gold aventurine inclusions. Thegraffito technique employed in the making of this vase is typical of Barovier & Toso’s work in the early 1950s. It is a popular Barovier shape and color.

The vase is in very good condition. It measures 7 ¾” high.

Barovier & Toso

Barovier & Toso is an Italian glass company that dates back to the 13th century and is currently based in the Palazzo Contarini in Murano, Italy. Originally just the Barovier family, the company merged with the Toso family in 1936. Specializing in Venetian glass, including mother-of-pearl glass, crystalline glass and gold-free cornelian red glass, Barovier & Toso produces traditional drinking vessels, Venetian chandeliers and glass art. The chief designer, Ercole Barovier, designed many well-known glass designs, including Brillantati, Zebrati, Crepuscolo, Cordonato d’Oro and Acanto.
