Description
Parlor Scene by Jacques Linard (1597-1645), Oil on Board, was Originally at Sloane's Antique Gallery, 8"x10", 16"x17 1/2" Framed. Jacques Linard was baptized on September 6, 1597 in the Saint-Rémy church of the town of Troyes (Champagne, south-east of Paris). His first traces of artistic activity date from the decade 1620. Married in 1626 to the daughter of a Parisian Master painter. He integrated the same year the community of the Parisians Master painters. In 1631 he is quoted as a painter and a manservant of the king. He dies in 1645. The catalogue of works drawn up by Philippe Nusbaumer indexes less than fifty paintings, mostly still lifes.
