In 1965, this Car was delivered to the Netherlands. It was the first of this series to have the special paint. Until 1975, it was used as a chairman’s car, later it was exported to a collector in the USA. By this time, the speedometer showing kilometers was swapped for a speedometer with miles. Since 2006, it has been in the possession of a gentleman in Hungary, who kept it in good condition and overhauled it, so it can show the radiance, which it shows today.

The origin of the MB 600 can be found in the mid-1950s, when Fritz Nallinger, who was a leading developer working for Daimler-Benz, developed this car to be state of the art for its time. So this very car got air suspension, automatic gearbox, servo steering and servo brakes. The developers even considered a model with extended wheelbase. But soon they learned, that this model would never be an economic success, because the development costs of one car reached 37000 Deutschmark, but the complete and finished automobile would cost 56500 Deutschmark in 1964. The Mercedes 600 has been subsidized throughout the whole time when it was manufactured, but Daimler-Benz manufactured it anyway because of image reasons.
