His Majesty Mr. H. Moorland (Beverly House, Park Road, Gloucestershire, UK) ordered this Open Tourer on September 16, 1919 at the Rolls Royce Motor Company in England. The chassis was transferred to the carriage builder Grosvenor Carriage Company in the second week of December 1919, to build the structure. In 1922 the car was sold to Mr. J. Osborne and CA Dernett, then in 1925, the car was sold once more. The British government bought the car and gave it to the Governor, Sir Edward Grigg KCVO who was in Nairobi in Kenya. He was the one to represent the British Crown in Kenya. The British government had ownership of the Rolls Royce until 1975. The car even survived the proclamation of Kenya in 1963, but in 1975 the son of the governor took ownership of the car and brought it back to England. In 1988 Sir Jack Tattersall bought the car and asked the company D. Moroney Body Work in Norwich to start restoration, which took about 4 years. In 1993, freshly restored, the car took part in the Pebble Beach Vintage Car Exhibition and won the prize for being the "Best Restored car in its class". Furthermore, the car participated in many competitions and won several prizes. The most significant owner of the car was certainly Sir Edward Grigg I, who studied at Oxford, worked for the Times and was the head of the Colonial Department during the First World War. In the years 1919-1920 he was confidant direct from the Prince of Wales. It stayed with the British Parliament from 1919 to 1920 and in 1923 Sir Edward was appointed governor of Kenya.

Source: Peter Byrne, Trinity Enterprice LTD. Rolls Royce Expert, the document is available as a supplement.

The car is owned by a gentleman from the Czech Republic and was presented last year repeatedly for national and international events. The car is currently in use and in fully functional condition.
