Description
Greek colony of Apulia, Ca 325 BCE, found in western Turkey. Lovely small pottery vessel used to hold precious oils. Black glazed with image of a swan on one side, wings extended behind its back, small added dots of decoration. 4.75"W (12.07 W cm)
Provenance: Ex-Collection of William Dale. Mr. Dale was a career diplomat stationed in Turkey in the early 1960's and acquired a vast collection of Greek, Roman and Near-Eastern treasures.
