Description
Greek Empire, from Western Anatolia, Ca 6th to 5th centuries CE. Pottery fragment of a horse. Full length of extended neck and head, section of mane at the crest, red slip still fairly strong. Custom mount. 4.00"W x 2.88"H (10.16 W x 7.30 H cm)
Provenance: Ex-Collection of William Dale. Mr. Dale was a career diplomat stationed in Turkey in the early 1960's and acquired a vast collection of Greek, Roman and Near-Eastern treasures.
