Description
Eastern Roman Empire, Lebanon, ca. 1st century CE. This gracefully shaped hand blown green glass pouring vessel has an elegantly pear-shaped body with a small foot and an arched handle. The vessel, used for perfume, was designed with a long neck adorned with a delicate coil and a funnel mouth inhibiting evaporation of the precious fragrance within. 7.25"W x 3.00"H (18.42 W x 7.62 H cm)

Provenance: Ex-Private collection of William Dale, a career diplomat stationed in Turkey in the early 1960's, who acquired a vast collection of Greek, Roman and Near-Eastern treasures during his tenure.
