Pre-Columbian, Northern Peru, Moche, ca 400 - 500 CE. Very attractive pottery stirrup vessel in the form of a seated lord. Painted with deep red and cream hued slip. He sits in contemplation or prayer with hands to his upraised knees and a somber facial expression with large eyes engaged in a penetrating stare, a noble arched nose, and a downturned mouth. 7.50"L x 7.38"W x 5.00"H (19.05 L x 18.73 W x 12.70 H cm)
