Pre-Columbian, From ancient Peru, first Chimu phase, ca. 1100 - 1400 AD. Finely-burnished brownware pottery effigy stirrup vessel depicts a captured deer posed on its side, with bound legs. A very artistically advanced, open style of pottery for the period. 6.25"W x 7.75"H (15.88 W x 19.69 H cm)
