Description
31. Bülow, Hans von. Autograph letter signed (“Bülow”), in German, 1 page (7.12 x 4.5 in.; 181 x 114 mm.), 28 August [no year], to an unidentified Fräulein; mounted on cardstock.
No longer giving piano lessons.
The German conductor, virtuoso pianist, and composer of the Romantic era writes in full: In answer to your inquiry of 27 J[uly]. I regret that I can reply only in the negative. I am not giving piano lessons any more. Should you desire higher training that is available at the Leipzig Conservatory I would recommend that you enter the Hochschule in Frankfurt-am-Main which, under the direction of Joachim Raff, will open on the 15th or the 22nd of next month. Dr. Clara Schumann has, as you know, the highest piano classes there. With the highest regards, Bulow.
The letter is accompanied by a postcard photograph of von Bülow.
