This sculpture was made 2006 in France of brass and copper by the French artist Gérard Bouvier. The artist is known for his humorous figures of cutlery, which impress with their lifelike design. Here a nocturnal kiwi with dense plumage is depicted. The bird belongs to the genus of ratites and is the smallest of its kind. The kiwi is a national symbol of New Zealand and has an oval body and a characteristic long beak.



The figure is signed and dated on the square plinth with ‘Bouvier 2006’. The condition is good with natural patina and usual signs of usage. Corrosion is visible .The height measures 25 cm and the width 16.5 cm.
