Description
One bottle Vina Valoria Gran Reserva
Produced by Bodegas Valoria
1968 vintage
Rioja, Spain
Original filling quantity: 0.75 l
Fill level: into neck

This bottle of Vina Valoria Rioja Gran Reserva (5 years ripe) 1968 vintage was produced by the Spanish winery Bodegas Valoria in Rioja. La Rioja Alta, in the town of Fuenmayor, is the place where the different varieties of grapes, that are present in this wine, have been selected: Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo. On the nose the garnet color wine shows elegant aromas of dates, spices and tobacco. In the mouth it is tasty, fresh, with round and well structured tannins and long finish. It leaves a chocolate and vanilla flavor on the palate.

Rioja is a classic amongst fine wines, known for being a long-lasting, elegant red, usually with cooler aromas. Rioja wine is created in the cooler northern part of Spain, in the wine-growing region of the same name. The Rioja wine type was first established in the 19th century, when the area experienced an increase in prosperity. Bordeaux was used as a blueprint for the development, which is why oak barrels were used for wine storage from the very beginning. Riojas are largely cuvées, of which the native Tempranillo red grape variety contributes the most in terms of flavor. What sets Riojas apart from the rest is that they are sold at varying stages of the ripening process: as Crinza (two years), Reserva (three years) and Gran Reserva (five years). Before reaching stores, the wines are matured in oak barrels and bottles. Just as with other red wine classics, there are numerous different styles. The traditional Rioja requires longer to reach its optimal maturity. Additionally, the so-called modern style ripens quicker due to specific vine-growing and oenological conditions.

The fill level is excellent (into neck). Capsule and label are in brilliant condition.
