Description
An Egyptian inscribed linen fragment and section of cartonnage. A nice lot containing a rectangular piece of mummy linen, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, with neatly written Hieratic script next to and below the gods Anubis and Horus from the 'Book of the Dead', 2 ¾ in x 3 ¼ in (7 x 8.2 cm).. Also included is a fragment of painted Egyptian cartonnage, Ptolemaic, c. 332 - 30 BC, with vibrant colors. 3 ½ in x 2 ¼ in (8.9 x 5.7 cm). Both items are nicely mounted and labeled in a Richer mount. Ex Arizona private collection.
