Description
A fine Lambayeque (Sican) stirrup bottle from Peru, c. AD 700 – 130, and features a bridge handle that is intricately decorated with pyramid designs. Serpent heads protrude from the base of the spouts. H: 8 ¼ in. Chamber and flared base show good mineral deposits and trails. Ex Gallatin estate. Cf. Domingo, Arqueologia Andina Peru, page 227, for similar from Madrid’s Museo de America.
