Description
Greek, Magna Graecia, Apulian, ca. 325 BCE. A Greek, Apulian red figure ware terracotta pelike (storage jar), decorated with the head of a so-called Lady of Fashion on each side, hair pulled back, wearing the saccos, drop earrings, and a double stranded, beaded necklace. The composition is framed by a band of leaves on the neck and a band of scrolls or waves on the lower end, with large palmettes under the strap handles. 4.50"W x 6.75"H (11.43 W x 17.15 H cm)
