The AEAA is very pleased to present this next piece of valuable Vaseline glass items from the respected Loren (Butch) Morse collection. This lot represents a wonderful 1931, French Vaseline Opalescent, hand blown ladies clutch purse, free standing cylinder perfume bottle by Henri Renaud of Paris. Dating relates to the essence Sweet Pea Ambree, which was first supplied in 1931. This Scarce perfume features wonderful vertical Opalescent ribs, and a Rare collar base, and is in excellent condition. The perfume features a very subtle glow under black light, and weighs only 2oz., measuring .75 x .75 x 2.75 inches tall. Loren Morse was a respected family man and Vaseline collector, and his untimely passing a year ago was a blow to everyone. For over 100 years, Renaud was a major supplier of small perfume / essence bottles for a ladies handbag. Renaud became a very successful company known for its attractive and moderately priced presentations. From 1817 to the 1950s, the majority of glass bottles were supplied by the famed Cristalleries de Nancy, and Rene Lalique et Cie. Our example is on of the RARE pieces, as it is finished in marvelous lite Green Uranium, French Vaseline, and completed with vertical Opalescent ribs, and a quality brass cap.
