early Texas primitive landscape titled "Horse Ranch in the Texas Hill Country". Agnes Gabrielle Tait was born in Greenwich Village in New York City in 1894 but is associated most with New Mexico. Her style was that of a romantic realist with some of her work being allegorical. When she resided in New Mexico and Fort Worth, Texas, she did book illustrations and painted many commissioned portraits as well as cat studies, landscapes and scenes of adobes and churches. Her work can be seen in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Weyhe Gallery in New York and many others. Site: 17"H x 21"W; Frame: 24.75"H x 28.75"W. Circa - Mid 20th C.
