Sacha Moldovan oil on canvas titled "Red

Roof Cottage". Sacha Moldolvan was born in Russia in 1901 and was associated with the New York art scene until he passed away in 1982. He was best known for his still lifes, landscapes, and figural paintings. In the early 1920's, Moldovan moved to Paris to study painting. He met the French master Henri Matisse, who rumor has it took him under his wing and tutored the young talent. Brilliant colors, boldly outlined forms and thickly applied paint characterized the style he adopted and refined over the course of his life. Site: 30"H x 26"W; Frame: 37"H x 32.75"W.
