This attractive 3.75” diameter Andrew Jackson Presidential Campaign Cup Plate was produced by Enoch Wood of England. Excellent in quality having a few natural transfer skips, as made. This version similar to the transfer listed as J.6 and shown on page 112 of David Arman’s wonderful reference book, “Anglo-American Ceramics Part I.” The more common variety has a simple rust-colored transfer. This very rare plate has the legend below Jackson’s Bust Portrait reading, “General Jackson Hero of New Orleans” with a rust color decorative outer rim border with a black transfer upon the white plate.
