This simple archer’s ring has been fashioned in deep green glass to simulate jadeite. The success of archery within Chinese warfare has much to do with this useful tool. The archer’s ring was worn on the thumb of the hand pulling the bowstring, both protecting the digit and providing a precise release action for the arrow. Today, the implement has evolved into pure ornamentation.

The ring is in good condition and measures 1 x 1 3/8 in. (height x diameter).
