"Kraft Dinner Skull"
Cardboard
H : 23cm - 9''
P : 25cm - 10''
L : 18cm - 7''
Laurence Vallieres is a sculptor who studied at Concordia University. Following a residency at the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, she began to develop a strong interest for urban space. For several years, she decorated the streets of Montreal with monumental animal installations. She has exhibited in the context of La Nuit Blanche or during the Under Pressure festival. She is known for her complex assemblages of pieces of cardboard. This work is part of a series and the result of a research on the skulls structure. The reference to Kraft Dinner is a sort of denunciation of the negative consequences of our consumer society.
