Description
BARBEAU, Marcel
"Angle surprise"
Acrylic on canvas
Signed and dated on the lower right : Barbeau 2014
Titled and dated on the reverse
61x76cm - 24x30''Karl Dufour has acquired a taste for rigor and harmony at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He currently lives and works in Saint-Hilaire. He privileges the simplicity of forms preferring those that are man creations, not of nature, like circle, square, triangle ... His work is an aesthetic interpretation of pure geometry. The circle and the square are two geometrically opposite, yet they unite and create a balance that raises constructivist questions. He prefers to use simple and noble materials, such as stainless steel to create eternal and unalterable works. His form and space approach allows us to approach this process of constructivism. In 2013, the 203 Gallery dedicated him a retrospective.
