EDWARD VII: (1841-1910) King of the United Kingdom 1901-10. A.L.S., Edward R, as King, three pages, 8vo, Buckingham Palace, 24th March n.y. (1905), to Mrs. Claydon, on the King's personal printed stationery featuring a gold embossed cypher and crown. The King thanks his correspondent for having written regarding her husband's health, continuing 'I am very glad to hear that it is so much more satisfactory & that his journey to England did him no harm'. He further thanks Mrs. Claydon for her 'enquiries after my second daughter' and remarks 'She has made an excellent recovery after her serious illness - & is now yachting with the Queen in the Mediterranean'. The King concludes 'The engagement of my niece to the young Prince of Sweden was very gratifying'. A couple of neat splits to the edges of the central horizontal folds, otherwise VG

Princess Margaret of Connaught (1882-1920) Crown Princess of Sweden, first wife of the future King Gustaf VI Adolf. The couple were married at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on 15th June 1905.
