Description
19th century, black damask ground embroidered with four bronze metallic five-clawed dragons chasing flaming pearls, surrounded by red, green, and blue lingzhi-shaped clouds above crashing waves and rocks. These surround a central roundel of similar motif with two bronze dragons. The panel edged in cream silk embroidered with blue, black and cream butterflies. Peach colored linen backing with black silk edging. Some tears to black silk damask, edging detaching, some stains and small holes to backing, approx. 53 by 51 in., 135 by 129.5 cm.
