Description
Early 20th century, Meiji period. Cylindrical lamp base with flaring curved foot and rim. Both the foot and top half of the base inlaid with turquoise, white, red, and yellow cloisonne. Original squared bronze shade, also with cloisonne to display the Tokugawa mon of three hollyhock leaves on all four sides and in the corners, surrounded by bronze floral meander. With two cloisonne bands, one around the top of the sides, another around the rim, with archaic taotie patterns. Pointed finial. Red interior fabric. Approx. 18.5 by 12 in., 47 by 30.5 cm.
