c.1820's, Edo period. Oban woodblock print. Ink and color on paper. A lively scene of a samurai grappling an attacker and tossing two enemies off a verandah. With colorful, patterned kosode and armor, embossing to his white robe. Title cartouche to upper right, artists signature and publisher's seal to right. Published by Kobayashi Taijiro. Bright colors and fine details. Mounted in a mat. Slight toning, repairs made to tiny holes. Approx. 14 3/8 by 9 3/4 in., 36.5 by 25 cm.
