Description
MEDIEVAL TESTAMENT MANUSCRIPT ON VELLUM

Luchinus Petri and Antonius Petri (notaries). Italian notary manuscript on vellum, dated Ferrara, 16 november 1423.

Square size (33x33 cm), written in Latin by two different notary handwritings (46 lines for the first one and 3 added lines for the second).

A medieval testament, containing the detailed last will of the noble man Blasius de Tossicis: this surname (now extint) was present in the area of Ferrara.

The document is signed by two notaries and there are both signa tabellionis the first one, with the nonogram L. is present in the upper left part of the document, before the space for the large headletter I; the second one, with the monogram A. and a balloon with the name Antonius is located in the lower left part of the document.

The first notary defines himself Luchinus filius quondam petri, the second notary is Antonius de petri (probably Luchinus’ brother) that countersigns the testament with a smaller calligraphy on three lines.
