UNPUBLISHED MANUSCRIPT ON CENSORSHIP
IN ITS CONTEMPORARY VELLUM BINDING
Romanelli, Pietro Angelo. Hic est tractatus de censuris regularibus et irregolaribus et aliis id genus. Factus a Domino Petro Angelo de Romanellis anno Domini MDCCXXVI. Romae: Typis Mascardi, 1641 (but 1726).
8vo (192x122 mm), contemporary full parchment, with four bands at spine, handwritten title at spine, head-bands (light traces of use, some little spots); pp. (2), 653, (17 b.).
Printed title-page with handwritten title in a richly decorated frame with printer's data at bottom (Romae: Typis Mascardi, 1641); text in Latin.
An interesting unpublished manuscript on censorship; it is a study copy, written by Pietro Angelo Romanelli in 1726.
Provenance: Even if the book has no signature and no ownership inscription, it comes from the private collection of the heirs of the Romanelli's family (a noble family, from the province of Rome, of landowners, priests, lawyers and administrators of church properties).

Condition
Light browning and occasional little water-stains at the front edge of the last twenty leaves. A fine and crisp copy.
