Description
DESCRIPTION: Original prints by Albert Vargas published in Esquire Magazine in 1943. The Vargas girls were the most famous of the WWII pin-up prints even being publicly acknowledged by President Franklin Roosevelt. One depicts a redhead in military garb holding a bugle. Printed beside the Varga Girl is the verse, "PEACE, ITS WONDERFUL!" written by Phil Stack. The other depicts a woman in a Revolutionary War Era uniform. Printed beside the Varga Girl is the verse, "VICTORY SONG" written by Phil Stack. MEASUREMENTS: Frames are 25-3/4" x 21-1/2" and 25-3/4" x 22-1/8". CONDITION: Center fold as expected. Minimal toning. Light wear to frames.
