These are two Indian chimera head as gargoyles, cast of brass. They originate from India and date to the 19th century. The chimera is a beastly creature of Greek mythology. Imaginative forms of animals and the figural structures as gargoyles were in use ever since. The gargoyles covers a beautiful green-brownish age patina.
The two gargoyles are in very good condition, one depicts a bump on top and a slight dent. They are each 35 cm in length, 10 cm in diameter and weigh 2.5 kg. (tm)
