Numbered inside in white paint ‘12893‘
With biblical scenes in three cartouches, among them the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, Fall of Man and creating Eve out of Adam’s rib

Good condition
This long carved bone of curved and spoon-like shape has got a screw hole on top. The front is embellished with finest carvings. Three cartouches show different biblical scenes, among them the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, Fall of Man and creating Eve out of Adam’s rib. In addition there is a block of writing. The cartouches are surrounded by extraordinary ornamentation in the carving.
The bone carving is bated below in the first oval ‘1608’. It is indistinctly inscribed in etched engraving ‘DEUR ADAMS VAL IS ?? SONDZ OPDER AERDEN ??? MAER CHRISTUS ONSE GODT HEFTSE WEDER WECHGENOME‘ and numbered inside in white paint ‘12893‘. The bone carving is in good condition with slight abrasion of the surface and traces of wear at the screw hole. The lower edge is bumped. It is 39.5 cm in length. (tm)
