Pugin's first book, the plates originally appeared in Ackermann's Repository of Arts from 1825 to 1827. Copies are generally uncoloured, including the Abbey copy, and have Ackermann as the publisher. The plates include Gothic beds, tables & chairs, sofas, bookcases and even "an horizontal grand piano forte".
