Description
Bronze Divit, a traditional Islamic traveling pen holder and inkwell, carried by government officials and merchants. The main compartment holds a fountain dip/nib pen, and the small well holds the ink. The cover is shaped as a shell. Characteristic design. All hand chased botanical and geometric patterns. Ottoman Empire. Circa second quarter to mid 1800's. Measurements: 9.25" x 1.75" x 1.6"
Condition
Good/VG overall. Nice patina, all original. Missing the hinge wire, replaced with copper wire making it not to close firmly. This is an easy fix
