made by Jan Bussell, 770mm. high ; Blackberry and Snowdrop , two black and white dogs by Jan Bussell, 170mm. high ; other marionettes of a cowboy, 350mm. high; two sets of marching skittles, 210 and 165mm. high ; and an articulated snake for a snake-charming act, 505mm. long, all in carved wood, painted by hand ; a witch and a gypsy girl, both by Pelham Puppets, in original boxes , 280mm. high ; and three other figures (11) The skeleton was commissioned by Ray Elgar and completed in 1984. The two dogs are strung so that they can throw a ball to each other, balancing it on their noses. Copies of Elgar s routines for the skeleton and skittles, and Bussell s instructions for the dogs are included in the lot.
