COLLECTION OF DUTCH & SPAIN MEDALS, TOKENS: All of metal composition 1.) Medal of Johan van Oldenbarnevelt, shows central bust in relief, verso with text: 2.187" (5.55 cm); Obv: Bust of the Prince of Parma Reverse: St. George Slaying a Dragon: 1.625"d (4.13 cm). 2.) Obv: Bust of Ioannes ab Oldenbarnevelt: 2.25"d (5.72 cm). 3.) Obverse: William of Orange in harness with sword and battle hammer. The text reads “P.V.O†or “Prince of Orange†and “DAT EDEL BLOET†Rev.: with 9 “penningen†on a coat of arms, text “HEFT ONS VOER DEN 10 PENNINCK BEHOTâ€; 1.5"d (3.81 cm). 4.) PHILIPPVS HISPANIAR Around a portrait bust; 1.75"d (4.45 cm) 5.) Obv: Unknown bust, possibly Don Francois de Moura, Rev: Coat of Arms, 1.69"d (4.29 cm). 6.) Large Medal or Medallion with relief portrait of Maria Princess of Orange (1642 - 1688) surrounded by the words, "Maria Hertogin Van Simmeren Geb Prinses van Oranje" under which is the date of her death March 20, 1688 (in Dutch), 4.06"d (10.31 cm). 7.) Large medal or medallion with relief portrait surrounded by the text, "Maistre oomken Prince Coronne Des Doctevrsa... etc", 4.25"d (10.77 cm). These are all thought to be 19th century casts of 16th, 17th and 18th century medals and tokens, perhaps scholar's objects cast by the museums which held the original examples.
