Description
Snow Hunters by Phillip Crowe - Edition Size: 950 - Print - Signed & Numbered Dimensions: 18.5 x 29.5 Release Date: 10-1989 ……….Phillip Crowe’s early years were spent outdoors with his father and grandfather hunting and enjoying all that nature offered. His natural talent as a painter and memories of those experiences led him to paint what he knows best – the outdoors and wildlife. From childhood days of painting with his mother until the early hours of the morning through his education at the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida, Crowe’s love of painting was instilled in him. After graduating from art school, the artist began a successful career in commercial art and advertising. Crowe says, “The advertising business was crazy, and I had to have some relief, so I started painting at night.” It was not long before Crowe’s talents were recognized and the demand for his work grew. His range of subject matter also expanded – blue sky days, flights of mallards and teals, icy mornings, handsome canvasbacks, silent whitetails, coveys of bobwhites, majestic eagles, the antics of puppies, the grace of pointers – the whole outdoor experience. Crowe has dedicated his time and art to helping numerous conservation organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, The Nature Conservancy, and many state wildlife resource agencies. The artist has painted over 35 duck and conservation stamps and donated large sums of money in art prints and original paintings to these organizations. Among Crowe’s many awards and honors, he has been the “Featured Artist” or “Artist of the Year” for over 25 national art shows and conservation groups. Crowe feels very strongly about protecting wildlife. He says, “This environment is fragile; the balance is our responsibility, and we must protect our outdoors for our children and our future.”
