Serial No 71844. Manufactured in 1888. Standard Colt model 1877 double action revolver chambered for the .38 long Colt cartridge. The frame retains approximately 75% original nickel with some flaking. Cylinder retains small traces of original nickel. The scarce 6" barrel retains most of the re-nickeled later applied finish. Caliber markings are gone off left side and faint marking on top of barrel. The screws retains some of the original fire blue, as does trigger and back of hammer. Original rubber grips are near mint. Indexes perfectly both single and double action. Strong rifling with some minor pitting.
